AIAG and VDA are now developing a new co-copyright FMEA handbook (5th Edition) that clearly defines an improved approach consistent with SAE J1739. In the new FMEA manual, the advantages of VDA and AIAG are combined to meet the requirements of both automotive industry organizations.
SHINGO is organizing a seminar with the Federation of Hong Kong Industries in Shenzhen and Hong Kong to discuss the development of the new FMEA handbook. The new revision will replace "Fill-in-the-blank" with "Step Analysis" according to the new format and the six FMEA analysis steps will be followed. Based on the RPN's corresponding priority rating and other updates from the previous version, participants will be given the opportunity to first understand the initial requirements and plan how to prepare for the impact and countermeasures.
